Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, is not a budget device by any stretch. But there is another interesting part of its pricing story. The same 256GB model carries a significantly different price tag depending on the country where you buy it.
According to the global price comparison data used for this article, the 256GB iPhone Duo starts at approximately ₹1.90 lakh in the US, while the price goes up to around ₹4.51 lakh in Türkiye. In India, the same storage variant is priced at ₹2,99,900.
Beyond the price difference, the iPhone Duo brings a completely new form factor to Apple’s lineup. It combines a 7.6-inch foldable display with the familiar iPhone experience, the A20 Pro chip, a dual 48MP camera system and iOS 27.

Where Is The iPhone Duo Cheapest?
The United States is the cheapest market in this comparison, with the 256GB iPhone Duo listed at $1,999, equivalent to approximately ₹1.90 lakh. Canada comes next at around ₹2.07 lakh, followed by Hong Kong at approximately ₹2.12 lakh. The UAE, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and China also remain below the ₹2.30 lakh mark in the supplied comparison.
At the other end, Türkiye is by far the most expensive market in the list at approximately ₹4.51 lakh. Brazil is next at around ₹4.11 lakh. That means the difference between the cheapest and most expensive markets is roughly ₹2.61 lakh for the same 256GB model.
iPhone Duo India Price
In India, the 256GB iPhone Duo costs ₹2,99,900. Apple also offers higher storage configurations. The official Apple India store lists the 512GB model at ₹3,24,900, the 1TB version at ₹3,74,900, and the 2TB model at ₹4,49,900. The phone is available in Star White and Night Sky. Apple says pre-orders in India will begin on October 16 at 5:30 PM IST, with availability starting October 23, 2026.
iPhone Duo Display And Design
The biggest attraction of the iPhone Duo is obviously its foldable design. When opened, it features a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR folding display with a custom nano-texture finish. The outer display measures 5.4 inches. Both displays maintain a consistent aspect ratio, making the transition between the folded and unfolded modes more natural. Apple also claims up to 3,000 nits peak brightness for the inner display.
The phone uses a Grade 5 titanium frame and hinge cover. Apple has also designed the software around different orientations and folding positions, allowing the Duo to be used for multitasking, entertainment and other scenarios beyond a conventional smartphone.
A20 Pro Chip Powers The Foldable iPhone
Apple has equipped the iPhone Duo with the A20 Pro chip. It features a six-core CPU, a seven-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple also says the chip delivers up to 20% faster CPU performance than the A19 Pro and up to 50% higher memory bandwidth.
A vapour-chamber thermal system is also included to help maintain performance during demanding workloads and gaming.
Dual 48MP Camera System
The iPhone Duo gets a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system comprising a 48MP Fusion Main camera and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. The main camera also provides a 12MP 2x optical-quality telephoto option. Apple lists 0.5x, 1x and 2x shooting options, while the high-resolution sensors allow for detailed images at different focal lengths.
On the front, there is a 12MP Center Stage camera, along with an under-display FaceTime camera. Features such as Smart Take, Duo Preview and Dual Capture are designed specifically around the foldable form factor.

Users can take advantage of different orientations and multitasking layouts, while Apple Intelligence and Siri AI add AI-powered features to the device. Apple says Siri AI is designed to offer a more personal assistant experience with features such as personal context and intelligent capabilities.
The phone also supports Apple Pencil (USB-C), although Apple says that feature is coming later in 2026.
iPhone Duo Battery And Connectivity
Apple has used an iPhone-first dual-battery architecture in the Duo. The eSIM-only design also helps free up internal space for battery capacity.
Apple rates the device for up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display. Fast wired charging can take the phone to 50% in around 20 minutes under Apple’s stated conditions.
The iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide. It also features Apple’s C2 modem and supports modern wireless connectivity, while retaining USB-C for wired connections.

Final Verdict
The iPhone Duo is easily one of Apple’s biggest product changes in years. It does not simply add a folding hinge to an existing iPhone. Apple has redesigned the display experience, software, camera features and internal architecture around the foldable format.
But the global price comparison is just as interesting as the hardware. At around ₹1.90 lakh, the US price is substantially lower than India’s ₹2,99,900 starting price. Türkiye and Brazil, meanwhile, sit at the opposite end of the spectrum.
For Indian buyers, the iPhone Duo is clearly positioned as an ultra-premium device. The ₹2,99,900 starting price makes it considerably more expensive than the regular iPhone 18 Pro lineup, but Apple is targeting buyers who want a much larger foldable display without leaving the iPhone ecosystem.
