Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17e in India. This is the most affordable model in the iPhone 17 lineup. It replaces last year’s iPhone 16e and brings some meaningful upgrades without pushing the price into flagship territory.
The biggest highlights are the new A19 chip, MagSafe support, and Ceramic Shield 2 protection. At the same time, Apple has doubled the base storage. The iPhone 17e now starts at 256GB. However, not everything has changed. The display remains 60Hz. The single rear camera setup continues. This is still a clean and minimal iPhone experience. Here is everything you need to know.
iPhone 17e Display And Design

The iPhone 17e features the same 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 1,170×2,532 pixels resolution. It supports True Tone and up to 800 nits peak brightness. The refresh rate remains 60Hz. Apple has added Ceramic Shield 2 protection. The company claims this offers up to three times better scratch resistance compared to the previous generation.
The phone keeps the notch design and supports Face ID. It has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The frame remains slim and lightweight. The device measures 146.7×71.5×7.8mm and weighs around 169 grams. It also includes the Action Button, a feature previously reserved for higher-end models.

Powering the iPhone 17e is Apple’s new A19 chip. It includes a six-core CPU, a four-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. The device comes with 8GB of RAM. This should ensure smooth day-to-day performance, faster app launches, and improved AI processing.
The phone runs on iOS 26 out of the box. It also supports Apple Intelligence features, bringing on-device AI tools to the affordable iPhone lineup. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB. Notably, Apple has removed the 128GB base model this time.
iPhone 17e Camera Capabilities

The iPhone 17e sticks to a single 48-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilisation. It can shoot both 24MP and full 48MP photos.
Apple says it supports “optical quality” 2x zoom using an in-sensor crop. This delivers 12MP images without a dedicated telephoto lens.
On the front, there is a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera with an f/1.9 aperture. However, some premium features like Action Mode and Cinematic Video remain exclusive to the more expensive iPhone 17 models.
Battery, Charging, And Connectivity
Apple has not officially revealed the battery capacity. But the company claims up to 26 hours of video playback on a single charge.
The iPhone 17e supports 20W wired charging. It also now supports 15W MagSafe wireless charging. This was missing on the iPhone 16e and feels like a big addition this year.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. It also supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and NavIC.
Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and proximity sensor.
iPhone 17e Price In India And Availability

The iPhone 17e is priced at Rs. 64,900 for the 256GB variant in India. The 512GB version costs Rs. 84,900. It comes in Black, Soft Pink, and White colour options.
Pre-orders have already begun. The phone will go on sale starting March 11 via Apple’s official website and authorised retailers across India.
