Popular social media platform Instagram is now taking a step back and adding a new feature that will surely make you nostalgic. It has now introduced a new update that will let you add a song to your profile. Additionally, this new feature is similar to the now barren social media platform Myspace. This feature was launched in collaboration with the popular singer Sabrina Carpenter. Her profile also has a clip of her upcoming song Taste.
Instagram New Feature
The official Instagram account on X announced the profile song feature. This song icon will be present below the user’s bio. However, the audio track will not autoplay and has to be played by tapping the icon. Once you tap on the icon, you can only play a 30-second clip. Moreover, the song will be displayed on your profile until you decide to change it, as reported by the social media giant. Both the consumer and the creator accounts will have access to this feature.
Here’s How To Add A Song To Your Profile
The process for adding a song to your profile is pretty simple. Firstly, open your account on your phone and tap on your profile picture from the bottom bar. Then click on the ‘Edit profile’ and you will be able to see an option for adding music to your profile. Once you tap on that, you can pick a song for your profile.

It will show you a list of songs or you can also search for the one you like. Moving ahead, once you select the song, you can then choose the 30-second segment that you want to be added to your profile. Also, you can only add one song to your profile.
