Apple Watch Series 12 Health and Readiness Features
The Watch Series 12 introduces Apple’s new Health Sensing System. It combines new optical and electrical heart sensors to provide more frequent health measurements. The optical heart sensor uses larger and more power-efficient green LEDs. Apple says it measures heart rate every five seconds throughout the day. HRV measurements are also taken up to 24 times more frequently than before.
Apple has introduced two HRV measurements. These are Recovery HRV and overall HRV. Another major addition is the new Readiness feature. It analyses recent activity, training load, vitals and sleep data to generate a daily score between 0 and 10. Based on the score, users receive one of four recommendations. These include Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready and Go For It.
New AI and Audio Features
The Watch Series 12 is powered by Apple’s new S11 chipset. It also brings new audio-related capabilities. These include Sound Recognition, Live Rewind, Siri Recap and Shazam integration. Siri also gets a more prominent role through watchOS 27. Apple has introduced a new Siri app and a Siri Modular watch face. This allows users to continue conversations and access Apple Intelligence capabilities directly from the wrist.
Apple Watch Series 12 Battery Life
Battery life has also improved. Apple claims the Watch Series 12 offers up to 24 hours of everyday battery life. This represents a 25 percent improvement over the previous model. Fast charging is also supported. Apple says 15 minutes of charging can provide up to 12 hours of additional battery life.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 Features
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 shares the new Health Sensing System and S11 chipset with the Series 12. It also gets the Readiness feature for tracking recovery and daily performance. The Ultra 4 is designed more specifically for extended outdoor activities. It also gets a redesigned pedometer model and new machine learning algorithms. Apple says these improvements help make distance measurements more accurate during indoor workouts. They also improve step counting throughout the day.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 Battery Life
Battery endurance remains one of the biggest advantages of the Ultra 4. Apple claims up to 50 hours of everyday battery life.
That figure increases to 84 hours in Low Power Mode. Fast charging is also available. A 15-minute charge can provide up to 18 hours of battery life, according to Apple.
This makes the Ultra 4 better suited to users who spend long periods outdoors or away from a charger.
