BSNL just dropped something new, and people are actually paying attention this time. They have launched a long-term plan that is making users take a second look at what BSNL is going to offer them.

BSNL announced this plan on their X account. Here is what you are getting for ₹1999.
1.5GB Data Every Day
The plan provides 1.5 GB of data daily, totaling 495 GB over the full 330 days. The data resets every day, so if you don’t use it one day, it’s gone. But for regular browsing, social media, and some video watching, it’s decent enough.
100 SMS Daily
You also get 100 SMS per day. Most people don’t use SMS much anymore, but it is useful for OTPs and bank messages.
BiTV App Access
All BSNL plans come with a basic BiTV subscription. It is their streaming app, so you get some entertainment content thrown in for free.
Get 2% Off Before October 15
There is a small discount available if you act fast. Recharge before October 15, and you will get up to 2% off the plan price. But you need to recharge through the BSNL website or self-care app to get this discount. It won’t work if you recharge through other platforms.
BSNL’s 4G Network Is Finally Here

BSNL also shared some news about its network. They have officially launched 4G services across India. What’s different is that they are using completely indigenous technology, making them the first Indian telecom company to do this.
BSNL has already installed 98,000 4G towers and plans to add around 100,000 more soon. The network is also built to support 5G, so when 5G launches, the transition should be smooth.
Speaking of 5G, BSNL has confirmed that their 5G service should be available by the end of this year.
BSNL Pay Is Coming
BSNL is also working on a payment service called BSNL Pay. It will be built into their self-care app and will run on UPI. You will be able to recharge your phone, pay bills, and send money all from the same app. It is not a separate app like Paytm or PhonePe, just part of BSNL’s own system.
BSNL Is Making Money Again
Here is something interesting about BSNL. BSNL made a profit for the first time in 18 years. They posted ₹262 crore profit in Q3 FY25 and ₹280 crore in Q4 FY25. Last year, during the same time, they were losing ₹849 crore.
Union telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “Back-to-back quarterly net profit, not just operating module, for the first time since 2007.”
Their annual loss has just dropped to ₹2247 crore in FY25 from ₹5370 crore in FY24.
