Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone in India — the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The device arrives days after its global debut in Barcelona and comes alongside the standard Xiaomi 17 model. With premium hardware and advanced camera technology, Xiaomi is positioning the 17 Ultra as one of the most powerful Android smartphones in its lineup.
The highlight of the new flagship is its Leica-tuned camera system. Xiaomi claims the phone is the world’s first smartphone to feature Leica’s 1-inch LOFIC sensor technology. The handset also introduces a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with continuous optical zoom capabilities.

The display can reach up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and supports Dolby Vision and HDR content playback. It also covers the DCI-P3 colour gamut for improved colour accuracy.

Powering the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm architecture. The processor features two performance cores clocked at up to 4.6GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 3.62GHz.
The chipset is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. Graphics are handled by an Adreno GPU, and the phone also integrates Qualcomm’s AI engine for advanced AI-driven features.
The device runs Xiaomi’s Android 16-based HyperOS 3. The operating system introduces several AI features and optimisations aimed at improving performance and multitasking. The smartphone also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Camera System

The camera setup is the biggest highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The phone features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system.
The main camera uses a 50-megapixel sensor with a 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor and an f/1.67 aperture. It supports optical image stabilisation and offers a 23mm equivalent focal length.
The second camera is a 200-megapixel telephoto lens built on Samsung’s HPE sensor. It supports continuous optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. The camera features a variable aperture between f/2.39 and f/2.96 along with optical stabilisation. The third rear camera is a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 115-degree field of view. For selfies, the phone includes a 50-megapixel front camera with a wide 90-degree field of view. The rear camera setup also supports video recording at up to 8K resolution at 30fps.
Battery And Connectivity
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a large 6,000mAh battery. The phone supports 90W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging.
Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and NFC. Navigation systems supported include GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and NavIC.
For security, the smartphone features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.
The device also includes sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. Xiaomi has also included an IR blaster for controlling compatible home appliances.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Price In India

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced at Rs. 1,39,999 in India. The smartphone is available in a single configuration with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
Customers using an SBI credit card can avail a bank discount of Rs. 10,000.
During the early bird sale between March 13 and March 17, buyers will also receive the Xiaomi Professional Photography Kit Pro worth Rs. 19,999 at no additional cost.
The phone will officially go on sale in India on March 18 via Amazon and Xiaomi’s official online store.
