And this is just the beginning. Today, nearly all smartphones over Rs 8,000 (USD 96) sold in India are 5G-ready. As 5G phones become more affordable, 5G adoption on Jio’s network will accelerate, further boosting data consumption. With Jio’s lead in 5G coverage, capacity, and quality, we expect to capture the lion’s share of the accelerating 5G adoption.
Regarding JioAirFiber, the chairman said,
In just over six months, we acquired our first one million air fiber customers. We acquired the next 1 million air fiber customers in just 100 days. We are still streamlining our operations and see the potential to accelerate even further.
The company now plans to spread its services to millions of homes, small and medium businesses, schools and colleges, and hospitals.
JioPhonecall AI
Akash Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, introduced the JioPhonecall AI service. He revealed that it can record and store any call in Jio Cloud and also transcribe it automatically. Users can now also use the feature to summarize the call and even translate it into other languages. “These are just a few ways we are bringing advanced AI through Connected Intelligence to every Indian, simply and effectively,” Akash said.
JioTV OS
It is the company’s completely homegrown operating system for the Jio Set-Top Box. It gives access to entertainment features like Ultra HD 4K video, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. Additionally, the voice assistant, Hello Jio, is also a part of TV OS now. This will allow the users to control the Set-Top Box with their voice. In the announcement, it was revealed that Hello Jio has become even smarter using the latest Generative AI technologies. Its natural language and human-like understanding have also been improved.

This helps to increase AI adoption across Jio, drives faster decision-making, gives accurate predictions, and a good understanding of customer needs. “We are also starting to use Jio Brain to drive a similar transformation across other Reliance operating companies and to fast-track their AI journey as well,” the authority said.
About Jio TV+ From Jio Annual General Meeting 2024
Akash also introduced new features for JioTV+ as well. It offers access to 860+ live HD TV channels as well as OTT content from platforms like Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar. It was also added that the platform has a “super-fast channel switching experience.”
Additionally, users will now be able to open different OTT apps via JioTV+ with just a one-time login. A few days ago, it was also announced that the company is bringing the JioTV+ app for smart TVs with a 2-in-1 offer. It will allow its users to connect two TVs with one JioAirFiber connection.
